Post Help required with K5 and flashes

Hi all,

I have a DOI ring flash and a Metz 32CT3 both of which worked fine on the Kr and they work on the K20. All I have ever done is slid them onto the hot shoe and bobs your Uncle.

I can't get them to work on the K5 for some reason and I can't work out why.

Actually I probably need to read the handbook yet again. Rolling Eyes

I would have thought that they should fire on the K-5, even if it was only at full power.

Do you have any other flash that does work on it?

They're the only flashes I have Peter.

I must be doing something wrong somewhere.
I haven't tried them with the sync cord yet.

It's OK now thanks.

The metal bit that sticks out of the bottom of the flash wasn't lined up properly with the connection on the camera - I pulled the flash back slightly and it works alright now.

Yeah, my wife's K-m has exactly that problem! With a Pentax (280T) flash. Would have thought it would have been sorted by now though. In fact it ought to have been sorted around the time of the MX! Rolling Eyes

Charlotte, make sure the metal bit that sticks out of the bottom of the flash lines up properly with the connection on the camera, try pulling the flash back slightly and it should work.

Post Re: Help required with K5 and flashes

I never had the problem with the Kr and it just slides onto the K20.

I should have twiddled with it a bit more before posting shouldn't I. As it happened with both of the flashes I thought it was something to do with the camera that I didn't know about. Embarassed

Thanks Gareth. Laughing Laughing
