That was the quickest learning curve to-date I think!

Post Re: A New Member of the Butchered Zoom Club

Does anyone know which contacts I can kill off to prevent autofocus and make the lens appear to the camera like a manual focus lens. I ask because I want the Catch in Focus functionality to work.
Pictures would be nice Smile

Post Re: A New Member of the Butchered Zoom Club

My kit...
K-5iis, Pentax-F ZOOM 28-80 Macro, various step-up rings to get from 40.5mm to 58mm and in amongst them a 49-49 reversing ring. Then on the business end the reversed Nikkor. On top I have a Pentax AF-500ftz flash on a swiveling hot-shoe mount adapter. To diffuse I have a pair of Soffen diffusers sellotaped together and in between these is a bunch of paper to kill the harsh light and as added security so as not to put too much pressure on the hot-shoe I have made saw cuts in the nearest diffuser to allow the insertion of a velcro strap to secure the flash to the lens to prevent movement.

Post Re: A New Member of the Butchered Zoom Club

Excellent stuff, Steve.

I've been otherwise engaged, and I doubt I'll have much chance to restart for a bit, as I'm going to be on crutches for a while after Wednesday. No panic, just kethole surgery on my knee. But keep 'em coming!

Post Re: A New Member of the Butchered Zoom Club

Weather's a bit poo so decided to shoot a dead drone (I think) to get a bit of practice and experiment with the flash. Uncropped version.
