Thanks Sas Thumbs Up All down to the lens, it is superb, as long as the target doesn't move Wink

Lovely detail and almost a three 'd' effect there Steve.

Excuse my ignorance (of which I have an abundance of) but what is 'The Beast'? I assume 'tis a lens.

Charlotte - 'The Beast' is the HD Pentax D-FA 150-450mm lens. It's a heavy lens - 2.325kg - so using it without any support is a bit of a challenge but you do get superb images with it. Steve E and I bought ours the same day - pure co-incidence - from SRS when it was on a promo. I use mine for picking off small architectural details - bits of Bath Abbey for instance or long range street photography. Steve uses his for wildlife photography where the Pentax historic (and continuing) failure to get close to the AF performance of the main competition for tracking moving subjects is a bit frustrating - hence the comments about the lens being fantastic as long as the subject doesn't move. There is another user on Flickr who shoots cricket matches, amoungst other things, and he's turned out some lovely stuff with his K3II and the lens.
